Founded in Rome in 1944, the SORAIN Group is today an international organisation bringing together five companies specialised in waste treatment, biomethane production, maintenance services, property management and mechanical components.
Our strength lies in vertical integration: from design to construction, from operations to maintenance, everything is carried out in-house with proprietary, patented technologies.

SORAIN TECHNO
Engineering
The engineering heart of the Group. SORAIN TECHNO designs, builds and commissions plants for the integrated treatment of municipal solid waste. From feasibility to turnkey delivery, it manages every stage with proprietary technologies and in-house developed SCADA software.

SORAIN BIOMETHANE
Renewable energy
Specialised in producing biomethane from organic waste through integrated anaerobic digestion and composting plants. SORAIN BIOMETHANE designs plants using ENERMAT anaerobic digestion technology, together with biogas cleaning and upgrading solutions that guarantee a purity of up to 99% for direct injection into the grid.

SORAIN SERVICES
Maintenance & O&M

SORAIN MECHANICS
Components

From the first street-cleaning trucks in Rome in 1944 to today's major construction sites: every milestone in our history is a real plant.
Foundation
S.A.T.U.R., the Group's first company, is founded in Rome: street cleaning in the southern quadrant of the capital.
SCT is founded
The Group's technological know-how becomes a dedicated company: Sorain Cecchini Tecno.
Biomatic®
The compact bioreactor for small-scale capacity reaches the market: SORAIN technology also becomes a solution for local, small-scale treatment.
