1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that visited sites send to the user’s browser, where they are stored to be sent back to the same sites on later visits. They fall into technical cookies, necessary for the site to work, and profiling/marketing cookies, which require the user’s consent.

2. Technical cookies used on this site

Sorain.com uses a single technical cookie, needed to remember the language chosen by the user while browsing (managed by the site’s internationalisation framework). It does not require consent, under art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code.

The site currently does not use analytics or profiling cookies. If traffic-measurement tools are introduced in the future, this page and the cookie banner will be updated accordingly before activation.

3. Third-party content: YouTube videos

The facility and technology pages include videos hosted on YouTube. To minimise data collection:

• the video does not load automatically: only a static preview image is shown;
• the YouTube player only loads if the user explicitly clicks to watch it;
• once loaded, the player runs in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com domain);
• from that point, Google (Google Ireland Ltd.) may set its own cookies according to its own policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy.

4. Managing cookie preferences

Cookies can be blocked or deleted at any time from your browser settings. Disabling technical cookies (e.g. the language one) does not prevent browsing the site, but may cause the language preference to be lost.

As the site does not currently use non-technical cookies, a consent banner is not required at this time. When tools that require one are introduced, a “Cookie settings” link will also appear on this page, to change consent at any time without having to act manually through the browser.

5. Updates to this page
