INTEGRATED SYSTEM – ANAEROBIC DIGESTION & COMPOSTING
Enermat
Semi-dry plug-flow technology turning the organic fraction of waste into biomethane and biofertilisers.
The technology
How it works.
The system consists of dedicated pretreatment lines to optimise recovery of the solid fraction from both source-separated and mixed waste. The organic fraction is then fed through feed tanks to the anaerobic digesters, fitted with a low-speed mixing system. A continuous control system keeps the process temperature within 42-45ºC to optimise biogas production. Digestate is sent via an automatic pumping system to the Biomax-G/Biomatic composting line to complete biological treatment, sanitise the material and, through a refining line, produce a biofertiliser. Biogas is converted into biomethane on the upgrading line and can be fed directly into the grid or used in cogeneration engines.

Process
The process phases.
Solid fraction pretreatment
The system includes dedicated pretreatment lines to optimise recovery of the solid fraction from both source-separated and mixed waste.
Low-speed anaerobic digestion
The organic fraction is then fed through feed tanks to the anaerobic digesters, fitted with a low-speed mixing system.
Temperature control
A continuous control system keeps the process temperature within 42-45ºC to optimise biogas production.
Digestate composting
Digestate is sent via an automatic pumping system to the Biomax-G/Biomatic composting line to complete biological treatment, sanitise the material and, through a refining line, produce a biofertiliser.
Upgrading and grid injection
Biogas is converted into biomethane on the upgrading line and can be fed directly into the grid or used in cogeneration engines.

Technical advantages
Why choose Enermat.
Proprietary pretreatment
Proprietary pretreatment system: maximum recovery of the solid fraction of OFMSW with no need for a bulking agent.
Pretreatment-focused design
Design suited to pretreating residual organic waste, with high separation capacity for improper material in a single pass and recovery of the residual organic fraction.
Feed tank
Stirred feed tank ahead of the inlet, for pumping into the digester.
Controlled anaerobic digester
Anaerobic digester with a low-speed mixing system and temperature control (42-45°) to optimise biogas production.
Residence time
Residence time in the digester: 21-25 days.
Automatic discharge
Discharge by automatic pumping to the mixing and composting system.
Digestate sanitisation
Digestate sanitisation with continuous temperature monitoring.
Zero leachate
