The project

Mechanical-biological treatment plant for municipal solid waste and OFMSW composting, built for ECOMESA, an FCC Group company, on behalf of the Mancomunidad del Este de Madrid. The plant treats 550 tonnes per day of MSW, 175,000 tonnes/year, and 150 tonnes per day of source-separated OFMSW, 45,000 tonnes/year. Biomax-G® technology manages the biological treatment in closed, automatically controlled reactors, with zero odour emissions to the outside and compost production compliant with European regulations. The plant is equipped with the Group's in-house developed SCADA software for real-time monitoring of all biological process parameters.
