The project
The Norte III plant, built for Benito Roggio Ambiental in the Buenos Aires metropolitan area, is one of the largest mechanical-biological treatment plants in South America. The system treats 1,100 tonnes per day of municipal solid waste, 343,000 tonnes/year, through an advanced mechanical treatment line and the Biomax-G® system for bio-oxidation in closed reactor bays. The plant includes a new material recovery line with automatic sorting of recoverable fractions. SORAIN TECHNO designed and built the complete plant, including deodorisation, the SCADA control system and on-site training of operating staff in Buenos Aires.
